Dear Modernite,

As you may be aware our efforts are on to form an active and strong M S V V A A, Modern School Vasant Vihar Alumni Association.

After the huge success of the Modernites Ball, held on the 8th of April, 2005 at The Hotel Surya Crowne Plaza earlier this year we now plan to have opportunities for Modernites to meet up more than just once a year.

In this regard I am pleased to inform all of you that we plan to hold an annual M S V V A A Golf Tournament. The date for the first Annual M S V V A A Golf Tournament has been set for Saturday, the 24th of September , 2005. The Tournament is open to all golfers whether you are a strong single handicapper of a novice hacker. The idea of course is to bring all Modernite Alumni together and have a great day in the fresh air of The Golden Greens Golf Club. The format of play will be decided at a date closer to the tournament.

The Golden Greens Golf Club at Gurgaon itself is a wonderful course with challenging fairways, lots of water ( and bird life for the bird watcher in you and if you are lucky , the occasional jackal or Nilgai ) and probably the best designed bunkers on any golf course in India. Needless to say, the player in you can look forward to a great round and the party animal can use the sand and water to get the 'beach' kind of feeling. The surroundings make for a very pleasant round and the superior quality of the course allows for excellent golf of the highest caliber.

All Modernites ( Alumni ), MSVV students, their families, teachers and members of the PTA of MSVV are cordially invited to take part in this event.

The game will be followed by a get together with drinks and dinner so that we could all tell tall stories about the game over tall cocktails and some great dinner. This dinner again is open to all modernites, students, their families, teachers and members of the PTA of MSVV. The venue for the dinner is Nasha, Gurgaon upon the insistence of non-golfers who also wished to be a part of the get together. Nasha is a lively place and a separate section will be reserved for us all. Be warned that the partying will go on into the wee hours of the morning so come prepared.

Venue : The Golden Green Golf Club, Village Sakatpur, Off National Highway 8 towards Jaipur. ( Make a Left from the Jaipur Highway at Haldirams Gurgaon )

Registration Time : 1230 Hours

Format : To Be Decided

Prizes : Best Lady Golfer, Best Gentleman Golfer, Best 4 Ball, Longest Drive, Closest To Pin, Blind Putting.

Details : 18 hole Tournament, 'T' Off will be at 1315, Elaborate on course refreshments will be provided, Water, Soft Drink Complimentary on Course, Memento to all players.

Event : Post Tournament Dinner

Dinner Timing : 2000 Hrs ( 8 PM ) onwards .and onwards . and onwards.

Dinner Date : 24th September, 2005 immediately after the golf round.

Dinner Venue : NASHA , 426 Mehrauli Gurgaon Road, Next to Reebok Showroom in the same complex as Red Coral Restaurant.

Cut off date : Pls register yourselves on or before Friday , the 9th of September, 2005.

Also very attractive MSVV, Alumni 'T' Shirts ( White / Dark Blue ) will be available at the venue's and can be purchased at Rs. 250 per piece.

I encourage all Golfers connected to our Alma mater to make themselves free for what promises to be a great day and though I may not be able to make any predictions about your game, I can definitely say that we will have a very good time. In case you happen to be a non-golfer then we hope to see you at the dinner where you could catch up with long lost old friends and for the evening, take a step back in time to when school was the world and everyone knew how to party hard.
